Dr. Joseph Wall is one of the foremost Accounting experts in the field of fraud and distributed ledger (such as blockchain) technologies. He presents, consults, and takes paid engagements frequently in areas involving distributed ledger technologies, financial forensic investigation, and private company valuations.

He is consulted and funded by multiple firms, including Deloitte, PwC, and the Institute of Management Accountants. His current research tends to focus in the areas of regulation, fraudulent behavior, and cyber-strategy. Much of his work seeks to design thriving financial systems by better understanding the unintended consequences rules and regulations may have. Since 1993 he has been a full-time financial analyst and professional investor. He is a managing member and the co-founder of his securities investment firm, which has been in business since 1998, and specializes in risk arbitrage transactions. Dr. Wall joined Marquette University in 2015. He earned his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University, his MBA from Marquette University, and his bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Purdue University. Prior to joining Marquette, Dr. Wall worked for seven years as an assistant professor at Carthage College, serving four years as a department chair.
